Three people are in custody after using $100 counterfeits in numerous stores in San Luis Obispo.
A secret service investigator from Ventura will help in the case, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
Around 6 p.m. Wednesday police were still searching the suspects cars.
The victims include Victoria Secrets, Moondoggies, Fordens, Lulu Lux, Zoey's Home Furnishings, Gap, and Sherwin Williams.
San Luis Obispo Police have told KSBY that the suspects would go into stores buying an item of insignificant value and receive change in return, they say in some cases the suspects would discard of the change.
Authorities say more information will be released Thursday.
