Behind two first half goals, the San Luis Obispo High girls soccer team stayed undefeated in Pac 7 play and handed rival Arroyo Grande its first loss of the season. The Tigers blanked the visiting Eagles 2-0 on Friday afternoon.
Taylor Wampler scored the first goal of the game in the 16th minute. It came on a corner kick, Wampler first headed the ball toward the near post, but it was deflected away. The senior defender followed her shot and buried the ball into the back of the net.
Just three minutes later, the Tigers struck again when Kelsey Harper drilled a shot from just inside the box over the goalie's reach and just inside the crossbar to give San Luis Obispo a commanding 2-0 lead in the first half.
The Tigers improved to 4-0 in league and 11-6-1 on the year. The Eagles dropped to 3-1-1 on the season and 9-1-6 for the season.
