Friends of a Los Osos woman who is battling brain cancer are asking the community for help.
Twenty-two year-old Maria Celedon has been out of work for six months, while undergoing surgeries and chemotherapy, which has created not only emotional stress for her family, but added financial strain as well.
Still, her friends say through it all, she has managed to keep her bubbly personality.
Her co-workers at Hearst Castle State Park are doing what they can to help Maria buy toys and clothes for her five-year-old daughter, Esmeralda, as well as help pay her rent, but they say this crisis is far too big for them to tackle alone.
"If you want to help a family, I can't think of a more deserving one. Maria's mother has been doing everything she can to help her daughter and granddaughter, but she has limited resources also," said co-worker and friend, Marcia Rhoades. "This is too big a family crises for the Hearst family of employees to tackle alone. If you can help, it would be a blessing for this dear family."
An account has been set up for Maria Celedon at Heritage Oaks Bank.
The account number is 009415580.
