It is hard to imagine a more painful experience than for a parent to have to say goodbye to a child.
A group of Central Coast parents who have lost a child get together once a month to support each other as they deal with their grief. They recently allowed a KSBY News crew to sit in on their meeting at a Santa Maria church as they talked about their children and shared memories.
"I really feel blessed I got to hold him as he passed away. I was there for him when he was born and I got to be there when he died. It's like the circle of life." said Nichole Ochoa, whose baby passed away.
"I could not go to the emergency room. Nor can I go to crash site." said Dawn Hanna-Coles, whose son died in a car crash.
KSBY's Caroline Lowe will share the parents' very personal stories of pain and hope on KSBY News at 6:00 on Wednesday.
