The Righetti High boys water polo team sure looked like a #1 ranked team on Tuesday. The Warriors stormed out to a 10-0 second quarter lead and beat Pioneer Valley 20-2 in both teams' Pac-7 League openers.
The Warriors won their season opener thanks to a balanced-scoring attack. PV goalie Roy Lara faced several breakaways and 3-on-1 attacks from the Warriors.
Jeremy Gerden led the Warriors with 3 goals. Several other Righetti players had 2 goals apiece.
The Warriors are ranked #1 in the CIF-Southern Section Division 4 coaches poll.
Arroyo Grande water polo beat Paso Robles 9-2. The Eagles are ranked 5th in Division 4.
