LONDON (AP) - The Olympic flame has completed its trek past some of the best-known landmarks in London, with the torch relay ending in front of a cheering crowd in Hyde Park.
Thousands looked on as the torch was carried across Regent's Canal in Camden, through a newly-renovated train station and down the winding streets of the ancient City of London.
On Oxford Street, London's famous shopping thoroughfare, the torch rode on an open-topped, double-decker bus.
As the torch bearers carried the flame to the steps of Buckingham Palace, Prince William, his wife Kate and his brother Prince Harry posed for photos.
In one north London neighborhood, many families with young children got up early to see the day's relay begin before 7 a.m.
Tomorrow, the torch completes its 70-day, 8,000-mile journey, lighting the Olympic Stadium's cauldron in a ceremony marking the official start of the 2012 London Games. The identity of the final torchbearer is still a closely-guarded secret.
