Santa Barbara Police arrested a man from Castaic for allegedly attacking a shopkeeper.
Police say Charles Taylor, 24, a transient, followed two women into a store on the 700 block of State Street.
The women asked the 51-year old store owner for help, so he approached Taylor and told him to leave the women alone.
Police say Taylor then threatened the man, punched him in the face and left the scene.
An officer found Taylor on East Haley Street and arrested him on a misdemeanor Los Angeles County arrest warrant.
Police say Taylor was then taken back to the scene of the attack and identified by the victim.
Taylor was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for misdemeanor battery and the arrest warrant.
