Transient found wandering in Los Alamos home arrested

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a transient, after they found him wandering inside of an unoccupied Los Alamos residence Saturday.

Deputies received calls of a burglary in progress around 2:00p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Leslie Street. When they arrived, they say they found 51-year-old Richard Eugene Rumpff high on meth inside. Rumpff also was in possession of meth and marijuana.

He was arrested on drug charges and for illegal entry, and booked into the Santa Maria Jail.
