Transients accused of raping woman behind an Oceano liquor store

According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department, two transients are in custody in connection with the rape of a 28-year-old Fresno woman behind an Oceano liquor store Saturday afternoon. One of the men is a registered sex offender.

Deputies say the woman was waiting for her family outside Pier Liquor when she was befriended by a woman who lead her to the rear of the store, where people were drinking.

When the victim tried to go to a nearby bathroom, deputies say she was attacked and raped by 38-year-old Paul Cervantez Ramos and 46-year-old Jonathon Charles Rodrigues, a registered sex offender. Rogrigues had to register as a sex offender after being covicted of lewd acts with child under 14.

Both men are in county jail on rape charges. It's not yet clear if the woman who befriended the victim did anything wrong.

The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
