Tree produces anti-cancer drug

A rare tree growing at a zoo in Texas may help fight cancer.

The Campotheca Tree is native to China, but is at the San Antonio Zoo. The tree is very rare to the United States and is difficult to grow.

A researcher from Texas A&M University was collecting seeds from the tree Wednesday. The seeds contain a specific type of anti-cancer drug called Camptothecin. The drug works as a second line of treatment in some Gynecological cancers.
