MURRIETA, Calif. (AP) - A Riverside County man has been ordered to stand trial on charges that he killed his girlfriend and stuffed her body in a suitcase.

The district attorney's office says a judge on Friday found enough evidence for Joseph Dorsey to stand trial for murder. He remains jailed without bail and could face 57 years to life in prison if convicted.

Prosecutors claim the 28-year-old parolee killed 47-year-old Christine Stewart last August at his Lake Elsinore apartment.

Stewart was a behavioral health specialist at a county drug rehabilitation facility and authorities say the two were dating when she went missing.

Her body was later found inside a rolling suitcase at a motel in northern San Diego County.

Dorsey was arrested in Mexico last October.
