The California Highway Patrol is investigating how a truck owned by a missing person wound up in a ravine off Painted Cave Road in Santa Barbara County.
A Santa Barbara County Sheriff helicopter was flying over the area when the vehicle was spotted 300 feet down a cliff in an area of thick brush off Highway 154.
The white Chevy pick-up truck is registered to a person who went missing in March of 2012.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says it has not been determined if there was anyone in the vehicle.
The cause of the accident has not been determined either.
