Santa Maria police officers cite 12 drivers during a DUI checkpoint Sunday.

Officers say 556 vehicles passed through the checkpoint located on the 600 blk. of W. Main St. between 6:00p.m. and 10:00p.m. Ten drivers were cited for driving without a license and two drivers were cited for driving on a suspended license. Twelve vehicles were impounded, ten of which were driven by undocumented immigrants.

Two drivers were evaluated for driving under the influence, but no arrests were made.
