Two young girls are safely returned to their parents after they were reported missing at Lake Nacimiento Wednesday night.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department says deputies were called to the lake at about 6:30pm, when a 10-year-old girl and 13-year-old girl were reported overdue and last seen about an hour earlier.
A search and rescue effort began immediately. Monterey County Park Rangers performed vehicle inspections at the park exit, the California Highway Patrol's helicopter was dispatched and a boat from Monterey County was sent to help with the search.
The SLO Co. Sheriff's Department says the two girls were found unharmed at a campsite in the park at about 8:00pm. They were returned to their parents.
Deputies say no foul play is suspected.
Earlier this month, a four-year-old girl went missing at Lake Nacimiento. Search and rescue divers found the body of Araceli Garcia, of Greenfield, about 70 feet offshore and in water that was about six feet deep.
