Two local high school students named state FFA leaders

Two Central Coast high school students were named to top positions within the California Association Future Farmers of America.

Riley Nilsen, a Nipomo High School FFA member, was elected State FFA President during the 85th Annual Leadership Conference held recently in Fresno.

Valerie Canas, a Santa Maria High School FFA member, was elected Vice President.

The two will represent more than 75,000 FFA members statewide. They will serve in their new roles for one year.
