Two men are arrested, accused of burglarizing 11 Santa Barbara businesses early Sunday morning.
At about 12:45a.m. Sunday, Sheriff's deputies say they began receiving reports of burglaries in the city. The first was reported by a business on the 4200 blk. of State St. Over the next few hours, deputies say they received similar reports of break-ins at other businesses on the 100 blk. of S. Patterson, the 5700 blk. of Calle Real, and a business on the 100 blk. of N. Fairview.
Then at about 3:30a.m., a deputy says he saw two men acting suspiciously at a gas station at the Casitas Pass exit in Carpinteria. The deputy questioned the two men and then searched their vehicle, where investigators say he found a large amount of stolen merchandise and cash.
48-year-old Michael Marval and 43-year-old Lonnie Roth were soon arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail. Marval is being held on a no bail parole hold.
Sheriff's deputies say later on Sunday morning, another four business reported similar break-ins.
