The Santa Barbara Police Department arrested two men early Thursday morning for their alleged roles in the sexual assault of a woman that occurred more than a month ago.
Police say that 24-year-old Jose Luis Castillo and 20-year-old Daniel Ordonez Jr., both from Lompoc, sexually assaulted a 41-year-old woman in Santa Barbara back on Aug. 4.
According to officers, the woman was waiting in a parking lot when she was approached by four men who coaxed her to a nearby area.
They say Castillo and Ordonez sexually assaulted the victim, while the two other men remained in a parked car.
During the month-and-a-half-long investigation, police found evidence and surveillance that led to the arrests of the two men.
After serving arrest warrants at their homes, detectives from the Santa Barbara Police Department arrested Castillo for attempted rape and Ordonez for forced oral copulation.
They were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.
