Fire crews are on scene cleaning up an early morning big rig accident in Santa Barbara County.
Just before 8:00 a.m. Thursday, firefighters were called to the accident on Hwy. 154 just north of the San Antonio Creek Bridge. That's where officials say a pick-up truck was driving down the San Marcos Pass toward Santa Barbara, and hit a big rig. The two men traveling in the pick up truck were taken to Cottage Hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries. It's not known exactly what types of injuries they suffered.
As a result of the crash, the big rig also released some 20 gallons of diesel fuel. Right now, one lane of Hwy. 154 is blocks and crews are controlling traffic in the area as they work to clean up the scene.
