One person was rushed to a local hospital Sunday morning after their vessel overturned south of the south jetty in Morro Bay.
The Morro Bay Fire Department, Morro Bay Harbor Department, Morro Bay Police Department, Coast Guard, and State Parks officials were called out to the scene.
It happened around 7:40 a.m.
According to reports, a vessel holding two people was capsized by a wave. Officials say there was low visibility because of fog in the area.
One of the people on board had minor injuries and was able to get to shore and call for help.
The second person was found floating in the water.
First responders initiated CPR and rushed the victim to a local hospital.
Officials have not released the identities of the victims.
Emergency responders are stressing the importance of marine safety.
