UCPD arrests man in connection with burglaries at UCSB residence halls

UCSB Police arrested a man Thursday morning in connection with two burglaries at two UCSB residence halls.

Two burglaries were reported over the last two weeks: one at Cheadle Hall and the other at San Clemente Residence Hall.

UCPD collected evidence connecting Jeffrey Allen Stevens, 26, to the burglaries.

Police served an arrest warrant and arrested Stevens outside the McDonald's Restaurant at Camino Real Marketplace. Investigators say Stevens goes to the restaurant often.

Police say Stevens was in possession of some of the stolen property when they arrested him. They believe he is also responsible for several other thefts, including a stolen car.

Stevens was booked in the Santa Barbara County Jail. His bail is set at $20,000.
