Asperger's disorder is being dropped from the diagnostic manual used by psychiatrists and insurance companies.

Children previously diagnosed with Asperger's will now by lumped into the larger umbrella of autism spectrum disorders.

Experts say this may actually increase the services these children can be reimbursed for.

Autism spectrum disorder will include children with severe autism, who can't talk or interact, and those with high intelligence who may be lacking social skills.

The manual, called The DSM Five, will be published in May.

Other changes to the manual include giving hoarders their own category rather than lumping them in with obsessive compulsive disorder.

Binge eaters will also be separated from people with anorexia and bulimia.
