Now a perfect 5-0 overall and tied for first in the Big Sky Conference at 3-0, the Cal Poly football team climbed into the Top 15 in the national polls. The Mustangs jumped five spots, the biggest jump in the nation, in both the Sports Network Media Poll and in the FCS Coaches Poll.
The Mustangs are ranked #15 this week in the media poll. Cal Poly received 1,581 points this week after receiving 1,172 last week.
Cal Poly is ranked #14 in the FCS Coaches poll with 284 points. Last week, Cal Poly was ranked 19th by the coaches and received 167 points.
North Dakota State and Montana State remain ranked first and second in both polls. Eastern Washington is ranked sixth in both polls. Northern Arizona is ranked 16th and 18th this week to give the Big Sky three teams in the top 20.
The Mustangs overcame a 20-14 deficit in the third quarter with 24 unanswered points to win at Weber State 45-23. Andre Broadous threw a career-high 3 touchdown passes.
Cal Poly returns home to host Northern Colorado on Saturday night. Kick off at Alex G. Spanos Stadium is at 6:05pm and the game will be televised on KSBY-TV. The Bears are 1-4 overall and 0-2 in Big Sky play.
