Untied Blood Services wants to say thanks to blood donors for saving lives

Donor Appreciation Day is being held at the United Blood Services Center in San Luis Obispo this Sunday.

The day's events include a blood drive, an eight-mile cycle for life bike ride and the chance to meet Larry Frederick, a 110 unit blood recipient who bikes across the country expressing his gratitude to donors.

The day's schedule is as follows:


- Donations taken throughout the day until 1:00 p.m.

- Bike Ride 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.

- Meet & Greet with Larry Fredrick: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

- Tours of the Blood Center: 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

- Free refreshments and raffle prizes throughout the day
