California Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of a head-on collision just before 6am Tuesday morning.
A Honda Civic was reportedly driving on Highway 246 near Tularosa Road in Lompoc when the car drifted into the oncoming lane and hit a Toyota Tacoma head-on.
A passerby pulled over to help the victims and was struck by an oncoming car.
Officers say approximately ten people were injured.
Officers shut down 246, but have since re-opened the highway.
