The California Highway Patrol says a 31-year-old man from Pismo Beach was the person killed in a motorcycling accident Saturday.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. on State Route 227, just south of Tolusa.
Officials say a woman was driving her car on the northbound side of the road, and the motorcyclist was driving southbound.
The car was turning into a private driveway when officials say the two hit head on. They don't know how fast the motorcyclist was driving.
They say he was thrown from the motorcycle and killed almost immediately. The motorcycle burst into flames following the accident.
The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Officials haven't released the name of the motorcyclist.
The accident is still under investigation.
