UPDATE: Additional charges filed against man accused of attacking wife with samurai sword

The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office on Thursday filed an additional 11 charges against Charles Guenther, 36.

Guenther was arrested for an alleged domestic violence incident on Tuesday in Los Osos.

On Thursday, he was arraigned on a total of 13 charges, including attempted murder, aggravated mayhem, assault with great bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon, and terrorist threats.

On Tuesday, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Officials said the victim drove herself to the hospital with cuts on her hands and stomach, believed to have been made by a samurai sword.

Deputies surrounded Guenther's home and locked down nearby Monarch Grove Elementary School while they waited for him to come out. He was arrested without incident.
