California Highway Patrol Officers say five people were driving southbound on Highway 1 in a Jeep Wrangler when they veered off onto an embankment towards Cuesta College Sunday morning.
They say the car rolled several times, and three of the passengers were not wearing seatbelts. According to officials, two passengers were ejected from the vehicle, and one was "totally" ejected.
They say they all have moderate to major injuries, and they confirm one fatality.
Their names are not being released at this time because the families have not been notified. They say the driver was 19, and a 17-year-old passenger died. Two other juveniles were also in the car.
