UPDATE: Hundred of customers still without power after car crashes into pole

Multiple agencies responded to a fire at the intersection of South River and Charlois Road Thursday night, after a car hit a power pole.

According to the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services, the first arriving engine captain reported two power poles down, multiple electrical lines down on the car and in the area, a car on fire, and a single driver trapped.

The sixteen year old driver was removed from the car and transported to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

Neighbors say they heard a big crashing sound and right after, the power went out shortly before 10pm.

The power outage affected a large area in the area. 838 customers are without power after 4 arms on the pole involved in the crash were damaged. Power in the area could take 12 hours to restore.
