The California Highway Patrol says the man wanted in connection for the fatal hit and run that happened Friday in the Santa Ynez Valley is in custody.
Luis Diaz, 28, of Ventura, turned himself into a Ventura Police Department satellite office Wednesday.
He identified himself as "Jose Morales" to the police officer working in the office. He told the officer he was wanted for a hit and run, and he wanted to turn himself into the police. The officer was able to confirm that he was Luis Diaz, also known as Jose Morales.
The Ventura Police Department took him into custody for a felony warrant.
He was booked in the Ventura County Jail.
CHP officers from the Buellton area went to the Ventura County Jail and took Diaz into custody. He was then booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on a felony hit and run charge.
On Friday, Joseph Corcoran, 33, of Santa Cruz, was killed when a car hit his motorcycle head on.
