UPDATE: Man who deputies say threatened them is identified

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Goleta man on Wednesday, after they say he threatened them with a knife.

Sheriff's officials say Harley Kelly, 62, was taken into custody after walking away from deputies, crossing all lanes of traffic on Highway 101 at Patterson Avenue.

They used bean bag rounds and a Taser to subdue the man and arrest him.

He faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon against a peace officer.

No deputies were hurt.

The incident caused the freeway to be shut down for about a half hour.
