UPDATE: Two pedestrians were taken to the hospital around 6:30 Saturday night, with major injuries after being hit by a car in Cayucos.

California Highway Patrol said 66 year-old Sandra Karako and 87 year-old Manualo Karako of San Luis Obispo were attempting to cross from the east side of Ocean Avenue near 7th Street, when a northbound car, driven by 32 year-old Rhiannon Carroll of San Luis Obispo - hit them.

Officers say Carroll remained on the scene while emergency personnel arrived. They do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Carroll was not arrested.
