The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says eight people have been displaced after their home caught on fire in Santa Barbara early Monday morning.
The fire started around 4 a.m. in the 700 block of Ribera Drive, and was knocked down at 4:48 a.m.
Fire officials say the fire was seen from the front of the garage when they arrived, but flames quickly spread to the second floor, with flames shooting out of the roof of the two-story single-family home.
More than six engines responded to the fire, along with other law enforcement agencies.
An investigator is working to determine the cause of the fire, and firefighters will remain on scene throughout the morning.
Officials say no one was injured, but the home did not have any working smoke detectors.
The Red Cross has been notified.
