A 46-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle in Atascadero Wednesday night.
Police say the man was not using a crosswalk when he tried to cross the 6200 block of Morro Road around 7 p.m. A 72-year-old man was driving East on Morro Road when he hit him.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with major injuries. The driver was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing, but police say the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The driver and pedestrian have not been identified.
