The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Gang Task Force received information that the firearms that were used in the armed robbery of the Oceano Market earlier this month were hidden in a house in the 200 block of Whiteley Street in Arroyo Grande.
Based off that tip, investigators conducted a search that lead to the discovery of methamphetamine, a pipe bomb and two handgun.
The two living in the house are not connected with the Oceano Market robbery; however, after further investigation two other suspects in the robbery case were arrested.
Grover Beach resident Matthew Lee Lawrence, 30 and Arroyo Grande resident Michael LynnAnthony Hardisty, 21, were arrested on drug related charges. Hardisty was found in a near-by motel in Pismo Beach, while Lawrence was already in custody for charges unrelated to the robbery.
The Gang Task Force found sufficient evidence to charge both Lawerence and Hardisty with the armed robbery of the Oceano Market. They were arrested and charged with armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon. Both suspects are also being charged with an earlier home invasion robbery in Oceano that happened on August 7. An ongoing investigation is continuing to determine if the suspect have gang ties.
