UPDATE: Santa Maria Police find stolen car

Santa Maria Police have recovered a stolen car.

Wednesday morning, the car was reported stolen by the owner. A friend of the car's owner saw it driving on Betteravia Road later in the afternoon.

The person flagged down a Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputy who followed the car. The Deputy lost the car, but a Santa Maria Police Department Officer spotted it on Provance and Capitola.

Police say the three people inside the car left it parked in the street and ran away.

An officer caught up with the driver of the car and arrested him. The two passengers are being questioned by police.

Police have also announced the driver of the stolen car is the owner's friend.

They say he faces felony stolen vehicle charges.
