The San Luis Obispo County Bomb Task Force determined that a suspicious item found at the Cayucos Pier was not explosive.
A citizen discovered the item around 11:30 am on Thursday and flagged down a Sheriff's deputy.
Officials said, while it did not turn out to be an explosive, it was made to look like a bomb. The device consisted of three metal tubes with an electronic timer taped to the top connected by several wires.
Some businesses in the area were shut down during the investigation, but they reopned around 2:30 p.m.
