UPDATE: Turkey Fire near Parkfield burns 1,500 acres

CAL FIRE officials say a brush fire burning near Parkfield in Monterey County has now scorched 1,500 acres. No structures have burned.

The fire started near Turkey Flat Road and Cholame Road north of the Highway 41/ Hwy. 46 intersection just before 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters from San Luis Obispo County CAL FIRE have been called in to help.
