The California Highway Patrol says the driver of one of the vehicles involved in a multi-vehicle accident near the Chumash Casino Thursday was driving under the influence.
Investigators say 37 year-old Rebecca Sandoval of Lompoc was driving eastbound on Highway 246, east of Cuesta Road, at 55 miles-per-hour.
The vehicle in front of Sandoval started slowing down to stop at a red light.
CHP says Sandoval was driving at an unsafe speed and collided with the rear end of the vehicle in front of her.
That vehicle then hit a third vehicle that was already stopped at the red light.
The CHP says the driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with major injuries. The two people in the third vehicle were treated and released at a hospital for minor injuries.
Investigators say Sandoval was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence.
