UPDATED: Fires break out near Lake Nacimiento

CAL FIRE crews are battling two fires along Nacimiento Lake Drive.

The fires broke out shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Monday in the Oak Shores area.

As of 6:30 p.m., CAL FIRE said one of the fires, called the Lynch Fire, had burned 2 1/2 acres and was 40% contained. The second fire, the Oak Fire, had burned 6 acres and was 60% contained.

Firefighters say they are dealing with extremely low humidity.

The cause of the fires is under investigation.

CAL FIRE firefighters are also battling a wildfire in neighboring Monterey County. The Interlake Fire has burned 200 acres near Lockwood. A mandatory evacuation is in effect for the Bryson-Hesperia area.
