Valley Christian boys fall 64-53 in quarterfinals

The Valley Christian Academy Lions battled, but fell short in the second half and lost 64-53 at home to Trinity Classical Academy on Tuesday night in a CIF Division 6 quarterfinal.

The Lions trailed 34-33 at halftime, but were outscored 13-4 in the third quarter and never recovered.

The Lions finished the season 21-6 overall and as Coast Valley League champions.

Peter Wilson led the Lions with 15 points and Turner Allen added 12. Jed Hedlund and Andy Wilson contributed 9 points apiece.

Seeded #2 in the division, Trinity Classic improved to 17-5 and moved on to the semifinals.

The 7th seeded Lions lost in the quarterfinals for the second year in a row.
