Three anti-war protesters convicted of trespassing on Vandenberg Air Force base have been fined. A Santa Barbara judge ordered Dennis Apel, Steve Kelly and MacGregor Eddy to pay $125 on each count.
The men had participated in several peaceful protests this year in designated areas outside the main gate. But the judge ruled the defendants had been rightfully banned from the base because of their prior behavior.
It includes a 2003 incident in which Apel threw four ounces of his own blood on the Vandenberg sign.
