Vandenberg Air Force Base prepares for an historic moment.

A Delta IV Heavy Launch Vehicle is scheduled to lift off from Space Launch Complex-6 at 1:08 pm.

It will be largest rocket ever launched from the West Coast.

It took three years of preparations and $100 million in base infrastructure upgrades at Space Launch Complex-6 to get ready for the launch.

Base officials say you the best views of the launch are at Surf Beach, the peak of Harris Grade Road and the Corral Road viewing site in Lompoc.
