A change of command is taking place at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Colonel Richard Boltz is taking over as Commander of the 30th Space Wing and the Western Range Air Force Space Command.
The wing's forces conduct space lift and range operations.
It also supports operational and missile system testing for the Department of Defense from the west coast of the United States. Colonel Boltz said, "My goals are first and foremost, I want to maintain the great mission success that Colonel Buck has had in his time here. Second of all, my focus is on airmen and their families. Taking care of them and making sure that they're getting everything they need to do their work and enjoy a life here. Third, I want to be a responsible neighbor to surrounding communities we have here."
Colonel Boltz took the place of Colonel David Buck.
