VCA boys advance in CIF, Cabrillo and Coast Union lose

Fifth seeded Northwood took a commanding 38-9 lead at Cabrillo and never looked back on Friday night. The Conquistadores lost 56-26 in the second round of the Division 3A CIF playoff bracket.
The Los Padres League champion Conquistadores finished the season 18-10 overall. They lose three seniors, Josh West, Michael Woodard and Caeden Johnson to graduation.
Malac Taylor and Conley Runions combined to score 45 points to lead the Valley Christian Academy boys to a 76-53 win at Eastside Christian on Friday in a Division 6 second round game on Friday.
Taylor led the Lions with 24 points and Runions, a junior, added 21 points for VCA.
The 7th seeded Lions improved to 20-5 and host 2nd seeded Trinity Classical Academy next Tuesday for a quarterfinal game.
The Coast Union boys fell behind 26-6 after the first quarter and never recovered. The Broncos lost at 3rd seeded San Gabriel Academy 72-31 in a second round Division 5A game on Friday afternoon. The Broncos finished the year 17-11.
