A verdict has been reached in the case of a former Lompoc prison guard charged with second degree murder in the death of another prison guard.
Timothy McNally is accused of shooting and killing Gary Bent in a Lompoc hotel room in March of 2012.
Bent was in town for training and prosecutors say McNally shot him while they were both drinking at the hotel. McNally claims it was an accident.
This was the second trial for McNally. In April, a jury was unable to reach a verdict in the case.
Stay with KSBY.com for the jury's decision when it is read this afternoon in a Santa Maria courtroom.
