Santa Maria Police have identified the man killed in a hit and run last week.

The victim is 56 year old Frank Diaz, from Santa Maria.

Police say he was walking his dog on N. Blosser February 5 when he and his dog were hit and killed by a car.

The driver of the car, Alvino Corona, fled the scene but eventually turned himself in. He has since been released on bail.

Officers tell KSBY News the investigation is still ongoing, and anyone who may have seen the accident is asked to call police.
