A new study confirms that vodka consumption is a large cause of premature death among Russian men.
Researchers say a quarter of all Russian men die before the age of 55.

The majority of early deaths are caused by alcohol poisoning, accidents, and suicide, as well as throat and liver cancer, pneumonia, and pancreatitis.
