After nearly two years, a group of volunteers are ready to restore and replant the 1,100 ft. Median strip at the entry of the community of Los Osos.

The group, Celebrate Los Osos, plans to replant that median strip this Saturday morning. Organizers say their goal is to create a beautiful, water-conserving project by using drought-tolerant and native plants in the median. The photo (left) is a rendering of what the group hopes the median will look like. They say this project is also a way for them to demonstrate how local businesses and residents can adjust their landscapes to save water, and be beautiful at the same time.

This Saturday's planting begins at 9:00a.m. and ends at 4:00p.m. The median is located at the intersection of Los Osos Valley Rd. and South Bay Blvd.
