Volunteers walk door-to-door to provide support in Goleta neighborhood where man allegedly killed four family members

Volunteers in Santa Barbara are offering support to the community following a neighborhood stabbing.

Murder charges have been filed against Nicolas Holzer, 45, the man accused of stabbing to death his parents and two young sons Monday night at the home the family shared near Goleta.

Volunteers with the Santa Barbara Response Network walked door-to-door in the Goleta neighborhood on Saturday, to offer free counseling and support.

They gave parents tips on how to talk to children about the incident. Some of those include starting the conversation, asking what the child already knows about the incident, and correcting any inaccurate information.
