Carson Wack drained six 3-point buckets to help the Arroyo Grande High boys basketball team capture its first Pac 7 League win of the season 65-42 over Pioneer Valley on Monday night.
Wack finished with a game-high 18 points. Bobby Keffury sank three 3's to finish with 9 points, while Andrew Midyett added 8 points and 5 rebounds. The Eagles as a team drained 13 three pointers. Matt Willkomm and Cobe Williams sank two apiece.
The defending league champion Eagles improved to 1-2 in league and 12-5 overall. Pioneer Valley fell to 1-2 in league.
Eric Fonteneau led the Panthers with 13 points behind 4 three-pointers, while Andrew Madrigal added 10.
The Eagles led 22-10 after the first quarter and 31-12 at halftime.
Arroyo Grande plays at 2-0 Atascadero on Wednesday at 7pm.
The Pioneer Valley girls improved to 3-0 in league and 12-3 overall with a 56-39 win over Arroyo Grande. PV has won five in a row. The Eagles, the defending Pac 7 League champions, dropped to 1-2 in league games. Alex Mero led AG with 11 points, while Ashyln Herlihy added 6 points and 12 rebounds.
